Unlike the great imperial dynasties that now litter the trashbin of history, the Amerikkkan Empire was born at a time that gave it a momentous opportunity to lead the world into a “golden era” of peace, prosperity, freedom and equality never witnessed at any time in the past — and quite possibly never again attainable in the future.
But, alas, the socioeconomic elite — the Top One Percent — that has always controlled Amerikkka, chose instead to let their own insatiable greed, their own desire for total power throughout the world, their own lust for blood and destruction, and their own psychopathic disregard for the well-being or even the survival of others — lead them to piss away that golden opportunity.
The Top One Percent could not have done it alone, however. It required the uninformed acquiescence of a populace — the Other 99 Percent — the poor, the working class and the middle class — to be able to pull this off.
While millions of Amerikkkans — and even Americans — have been brainwashed by almost a quarter of a millennium of national existence during which time almost the entirety of the mass media, almost the entirety of the public education system, and almost the entirety of the country’s supposedly “Christian” religious infrastructure that have employed massive deception, fraud and jingoism to keep a largely semi-literate Other 99 Percent firmly under the thumb of the Top One Percent, a few are beginning to stir from their intellectual slumber.
No, Virginia, Exxon-Mobil did not put all that oil and gas under Amerikkkan soil. Nor did Dow Chemical give the southern U.S. the climate that made it the breadbasket of the world. Nor was “good old American know-how” responsible for the vast majority of patents now exploited by Amerikkkan multinational corporations. No, those corporations merely exploited circumstances that enabled the Top One Percent to steal a grotesquely disproportionate share of the national economic pie that rightly belonged to all. Materially, technologically and economically, the U.S. would have done just as well under socialism — or even communism — as it did for so long under corporate capitalism. The only difference is that under socialism or communism, everyone — and not just the Top One Percent — would have shared fairly equally in the bounty that was collectively accrued.
But even when Amerikkka’s vaunted corporate capitalism lost — or forfeited — its ability to create any real new wealth with the advent of voodoo Reaganomics — so-called “supply-side” economics — so-called “trickle-down” economics — so-called neoliberalism or neoconservatism — the gangster banksters and corporate robber barons could not accept that they had reached the logical limits of their personal quests for ever, ever more.
If they could no longer — or would no longer — create any new real wealth, they would continue to increase their own personal wealth by stealing from the already-very-limited wealth of the Other 99 Percent.
In a country where every politician isn’t already bought and paid for by the lawless capitalist corporations; where every mass-media outlet is not the personal propaganda machine of some extreme right-wing nutbar; where the long-respected tradition of “separation of church and state” has not been bastardized to the point where several state governments force their public schools to teach such utter nonsense as so-called “intelligent design” — i.e. that the world is only 4,000-6,000 years old; where several states are not already forcing their public schools to teach abstinence-only sex education; the Top One Percent could not have gotten away with it.
But this is Amerikkka after all, as pseudo-African-American President Barack Obama once famously opined, “We don’t begrudge people the fruits of their labors” … or seemingly of the fruits of the labors of many, many other people such as their own employees and the employees of their suppliers, and their own customers.
Most Americans are almost in a state of rapture over the supposed beauty of the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately, most of these dimwits so enamored of their Constitution have probably never read and probably could not even read it. They don’t realize that for the first century or so of their country’s existence, they only people their great “democracy” allowed to vote were adult white males who were property-owners. Women couldn’t voted. Blacks couldn’t vote. American Indians couldn’t vote. Latinos couldn’t vote. Asians couldn’t vote. Even white men couldn’t vote — unless they were property-owners. And every Amendment that has expanded the right to vote has only come about after decades of hard-fought struggle by people who — for far too long — had no say in the running of their country.
And most worshippers of the Constitution are willing to sit idly by while the Top One Percent and their puppet political prostitutes incrementally rob them of all their First Amendment rights — such as free speech and freedom of assembly — all narcotized by Amerikkkan jingoism into believing that when push comes to shove, they will be miraculously saved by their Second Amendment — their supposed right to keep and bear arms. (As if even automatic weapons in the hands of an “armed” citizenry would stand any chance against literally tens of thousands of unmanned drones and thousands of fighter jets — all variously flown by governments — and/or corporations.
A large portion of Amerikkkans are also the dupes — the “useful idiots” — of an entire organized cadre of so-called “Christian conservatives,” all stumbling over each other in their deceitful efforts to be seen as the most ardent opponents of abortion and same-sex marriage and the most ardent supporters of corporate capitalism. But where the hell does this supposed “Christian” conservatism really spring from? It’s certainly not from the New Testament. Although strongly predisposed toward atheism, I have read the entire New Testament — every word of it — and not just the dozen or two minor passages repeatedly harped upon by all those jack-in-the-pulpits church today is Socialist, and that’s because not one of them, ultimately, is really Christian.
Ultimately, it is the backwardness, the quasi-literacy, the gullibility, and the susceptibility of a majority of Amerikkkans to relentless brainwashing by the corporate capitalist Top One Percent — the mega-millionaires, billionaires and mega-billionaires — and the corrupt mainstream mass media that they control, the puppet political prostitutes that they control, the woefully inadequate and disinformation-based public education system that they control, and the charlatan celebrities of so-called “Christian conservativism” that they also control, that will turn the already-started decline and fall of the American Empire into a global holocaust.
