Christian hypocrite stereotypes strike again…what a surprise!

What seems to link Bishop Raymond Lahey with clerics of other faiths is their predilection for perversion.By Mike Bodrogkozi

Before going on I will give the disclaimer that this is absolutely not, I repeat, NOT a repeat column that I’ve published before.
The setting is exactly the same but the characters are totally different.
It begins with a reverend, who was a “Chief Shepherd” to a deeply religious flock of Gaelic, Acadian, and First Nations peoples of Nova Scotia’s Antigonish County and Cape Breton Island. He was very outspoken to other church leaders in urging them to make the church more hip and relevant to the followers.
He had also urged prayer for all those who had been abused by the churches and was instrumental in brokering a deal of $15 million for previous victims of sexual abuse by leaders of the church.
He had written on theology and church history, served on two school boards, organized a visit by the Pope in 1984 and was awarded the title Prelate of Honour by Pope John Paul 2 and on and on and da-da-da-da-da.
Now, after an examination of his laptop by border officials in Ottawa upon his return from Europe, BIG SURPRISE, he is being held on child porn charges based on what they found on his laptop.
Yes, living up to my cockeyed expectations, Rev. Raymond Lahey is the latest of the Christian hypocrite stereotypes to show his true colours and be brought to justice for his actions and faces many serious charges.
Hiding under the robe of God seems to offer these delusional pedophiles total immunity from their crimes but to the rest of us “ normies” ( the non-delusional, non-religious) see straight through the lies and hypocrisy a’ la’ the emperor wears no clothes.
The religious right should sit down and even use our friend Google to see how many times this same story plays itself out over the course of history, just with different players.
These perverts are sexually depraved and need to find another release for their perverted ways. The old school ways of their churches that forbid the marrying of these men to women (wow that sounds a little more normal eh?) have been a carry-over from hundreds of years ago, when the church used to preserve its own property from the eventual divorce of its leaders and the subsequent loss of their property via divorce proceedings or spousal inheritance. I’m sure if these geniuses sat down they might realize that the millions they routinely pay their sexual abuse victims now, would be far more than the loss of a little land and money. After all, a good wife is forever obedient, right?
I don’t mean to dump on the religious solely, because even the non-religious commit these heinous crimes also. Let me find another non-religious offender. Take for instance the story last week of the grade 10 teacher David Dewees, 32, of Toronto, who taught at Jarvis Collegiate Institute and was caught trying to lure two young boys over the internet. He had befriended these boys at a summer camp between July, 2008, and this past July.
Oh shit wait a minute, it was a Christian-based camp for boys and girls near Port Stanley, Ontario that he had volunteered at. He was charged with two counts of invitation to sexual touching and two counts of luring, and was suspended from his job with pay pending the outcome of the trial. He has since killed himself. I guess he knew the eventual outcome of that. Others should follow his lead as these crimes are entirely sick and serve to destroy the lives of the victims now, and for years to come. Instant gratification for the predator for a lifetime of pain for the victims.
Can I say once again, fuck you, Roman Polanski.
