All the vested interests have ramped up their lobbying and advertising in opposition to U.S. President Barack Obama’s proposed health care reform.
But it is important that the politicians and the public ignore the tide of deceit and misinformation.
The United States – the richest country in the world – is the only industrialized country that does not have single-payer universal health care.
That’s not just a tragedy for the 47 million Americans who have no access to health care or to the 100 million Americans who are without health-care coverage at some point in the year.
It is also a great threat to public health at large both in the U.S. and around the world.
