NATO’s ‘humanitarian intervention’ has spun Libya into a spiral of bloody mayhem

About a year ago, the Amerikkkan administration dispatched the CIA to Libya to sow the seeds of uprising against strongman leader Muammar Kadhafi and foment an eventual civil war.
Having used its proxies to set large swaths of the country ablaze, the Amerikkkan regime then spent many long weeks trying to bulldoze the UN security council into authorizing a so-called “humanitarian intervention” in the beleaguered country to be carried out by Amerikkka and its NATO client states.
Concerned that such intervention would be neither “humanitarian” nor of ultimate benefit to the Libyan people, Russia and China initially opposed it.
As Amerikkka strong-armed more and more countries into pressuring Russia and China to allow the inervention, the two eastern members of the Security Council buckled.
They eventually conceded, but insisted – and this limitation was clearly spelt out in the UN authorization – that the “humanitarian” intervention not have “regime change” as a goal.
True, Muammar Kadhafi was brutal in his treatment of dissenters. And true, the Kadhafi family did steal many millions of dollars from Libyan government coffers.
But Kadhafi did give the Libyan people by far the highest standard of living in all of Africa; and he was a staunch defender of the equality of women. (Just a few days ago, Libya’s new rulers announced they would allow Libyan men to have as many as three wives, a brtual assault on the human rights of women.)
In fact, there is credible evidence that Kadhafi enjoyed the support of most of the Libyan people. read more »
