Nothin’ like a good ole hit-and-run, Ted-Kennedy-style to make my news. This time it’s Dalton McGuinty’s minion, Michael Bryant, just killing the headlines. Or is he?
Michael Bryant, 43, former Ontario Attorney-General, who resigned about 3 months ago Monday and has now resigned from Invest Toronto, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death in an incident that occurred Monday night. He had an altercation with a cyclist, Darcy Allan Sheppard, 33, who had been tossed from a girlfriend’s that day, and, after a minor collision between the cyclist and the said Michael Bryant and his wife, who were returning from dinner about 9:45 P.M. on Bloor St. west in the trendy Yorkville area. Mr. Sheppard became agitated and began to strike the vehicle and attempt to grab the wheel while being dragged around the side of the car and smacking telephone poles and hydrants. This is what led to his death.
