CBC Newsworld reported today that over the past five years, Transport Canada has conducted hundred of tests on baby car seats but refuses to publish the results on the grounds that doing so could hurt “the private sector.”
“The private sector” here means giant corporations, mostly American-owned, that have been flogging these unsafe products for years and putting the lives of Canada’s children in danger.
The policy of concealing the test results began under the Liberal government of former prime minister Paul Martin and continues, even today, under the corrupt Harper-Ignatieff, Conservative-Liberal coalition.
