On the Israeli-American axis of evil

The great terrorist state of Israel has today acted again with impunity in illegally boarding a flotilla of ships bringing desperately needed food and medicine to the besieged inhabitants of the Gaza Strip and slaying at least 19 unarmed crewmen.
It has been years now since the Israeli government decided to turn the Gaza into the biggest and harshest concentration camp in the world.
The two million Palestinians who inhabit this desolate strip of land have been subjected not only to the constant threat of violence but to inhumane rationing of even the most vital medicines and foodstuffs.
It is perhaps the greatest ongoing criminal action by one people against another in the world today and it is going totally unchecked.

Thailand flirts with bloody revolution

Can Bangkok's Red Shirts prevail over the Thai army?
Can Bangkok's Red Shirts prevail over the Thai army?

For several weeks now, the people of Bangkok and 15 other Thai provinces have edged dramatically closer to all-out bloody revolution.
With a rapidly-growing population of 66 million people, the southeast Asian country is both a democracy and a constitutional monarchy.
The problem is, however, is that the now-beleaguered nation has not known both peace and justice simultaneously for decades – since long before the U.S. first ventured into Vietnam.
Although nominally a democracy, it seems every time the populace elects a new government, that government is quickly ousted either by a military coup or by the courts.
And that’s when the monarchy – or at least its revered and long-serving but ancient and ailing king — has generally come forward to negotiate an arrangement most can live with.

Is Big Oil guilty of ‘greenwashing?” And — more importantly — what would Chevron do?

How would Chevron deal with a mammoth oil spill?

The latest environmental catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico comes as no surprise to
anyone familiar with the hotbuzz term “Greenwashing.” This is the fluffed-up bag of lies used by
environmentally unfriendly industry to make it appear that they have utmost control of the
damages their endeavours cause the planet. To the casual observer, these industries appear to take
care of these messes, and contribute to the planet’s overall well-being, but to the enlightened
observer, their asses have yet to be wiped.

Greek ‘austerity’ rightly riles the masses

The pillars of past Greek populism shudder anew.

The Greek masses have been rising up in recent days over the new “austerity measures” announced by their national government. As usual, when governments in corporate capitalist so-called “democracies”face financial storms, it is the poor and the working class that are required to shoulder the enitre cburden.
Never are the corporations and the billionaires and mega-millionaires who control them ever asked to sacrifice, even when the immediate financial crisis is the the direct result of the unbridled greed, corruption, incompetence and criminality of the capitalist class.
In this particular instance, Greece’s national economy has become so crippled that the country itself is facing bankruptcy, an evenuality that would certainly drag other European economies down into the same mire.
